God Wafer+El Donk: Two Great Tastes...

Wow. Just looking at these guys, I think this is a perfect band for El Donk to open for. Check out their site. Go ahead. Check it out.

I said, check it out! Damn it! Look now!

Ok, that's better.

How 'bout that crazy rock 'n' robe action? They've got the rock. They've got the religion. They've got the cars. They've got the lights.

Now come to the shows--Friday March 18th at the Annex in Madison, Saturday March 19th at 324 Live in La Crosse.

El Donk at the Slipper Club

Greetings, Donkaritos. El Donk hits the Slipper Club for the very first time on Friday, February 11th. We will be joined by The Kites--swell fellows all--and Locked Sound, who we haven't met yet but are probably pretty cool.

The show starts at 10-ish pm.

The Slipper Club can be found at 121 W. Main St here in bustling Madison, WI.

Hollyrocks. And Nothing Else.

Sometimes gigs don't go quite as-planned. We've played gigs like that, here and there. Lately, our friends StoneFloat played Hollyrocks up nort', where we played last year. Here, I'll let them explain...

Hey now Falcon,

Here's the story as promised:

Second time in Hollyrocks ,last time ok, got paid, not much of a crowd small town freezing but ok. KC is a native son so back we go, got some press so we are stoked, got a light rig, fogger, all good... Get in and the new owner right away, and this is the guy who booked us, comes over and sez to KC and Tate (not enough balls to say it to my face I guess) that we need to nix the "poetry" stuff in his joint because the people don't like anything too far out and when el donk was in folks booed and walked out!!! Oh shit, now what? And on top of that our drummer has forgotten his sticks and is at that moment pulling branches off a tree outside the joint and getting ready to whittle them (all this is true). So back to KC's dad's place to smoke and set and figure out what we are to do. Strange and uncomfortabe but smoked and so fuck em if they can't dig it and they are gonna already think we are weird with a drummer playing with branches. Back to the joint, rev it up and play, poetry and all screaming at them and they dug it. No one left and a few tapped their toes. Later we got some compliments and good jobs so a nice night. Got paid and all's well that end's well. Probably won't go back as the crowd was sparse again even with press and posters and the town likes cover bands anyway. Wish we could have seen your set there, we would have cheered like mofos and fought anyone who booed...

Peace and happiness,

Adam

I don't remember being boo-ed at Hollyrocks... hmm.
